They have exclusive rights to approximately 400,000 acres of private working cattle ranches. This bird did not earn the name "Swamp Gobbler" for nothing. They are tough and elusive birds to hunt. Mexico Gould's TurkeyLooking for the complete Royal Slam? This outfitter hunts the Gould's through the hillsides of the Sierra Madre Mountains. Mexico Ocellated Turkey
The Ocellated turkey is found in the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico. It has a wide variety of colors, including the rainbow colors with an extraordinary brightness, a blue turquoise head with red, yellow and orange skin, and a protuberance that can measure as much as 7cms. It usually has 3 inch spurs as an average. Our Ocellated turkey hunts take place near the Kalakmul reserve in the Campeche state and run from mid March to mid May each week from Sunday to Saturday. Each hunter will have to fly to Campeche City International Airport. Success rate has been 95% over the past few years.
2008 Season - 45 hunters took 57 birds.
