Wyoming Prairie Dog Hunts
If you really want to hone in your shooting skills and have a good time doing it then try Prairie Dog Hunting. We work with two great outfitters in Wyoming that have very large populations of Prairie Dog towns. You can also combine these trips with vacations out west so the whole family can enjoy.
Hunt # 1
This outfitter is located in Hulett, Wyoming. This hunt is generally three days with a guide, meals and lodging provided. They will supply guides that act as spotters and professional shooting branches to insure precision shooting. Most people like to bring two rifles, so as not to overheat the barrel. They have extra ammunition in the gun shop for most standard calibers if you run out. They conduct their hunts in June, July and August. You can combine this trip with a family vacation. Devils Tower, Wyoming is right down the road andMount Rushmore, SD is about two hours away. You can fly into Rapid City, SD and it will be about a two hour drive to the lodge through some beautiful country.

Hunt #2
This outfitter is located out of Casper, Wyoming. They also have some property in Montana. This is a two day hunt during the time frame of June 21 - June 30 or July 8 - July 28. They offer the option of a camp hunt or a town hunt, your choice. The camp hunt is located on the property which includes meals, lodging and a guide (2-3 shooters per guide). The town hunt is conducted from town where the outfitter will pick you up in the morning and return you to the motel after the hunt. Meals and lodging are not included in this hunt. They do provide a sack lunch. They will also set up a quality shooting bench right in the field. You can fly into Casper, Wyoming or Billings, Mt. depending on where the hunt will take place.
